EV charging support statistics are useful when you know what was counted. We separate published market data from the measures your own network needs to judge a support pilot.

Put Canadian demand in context
Vehicle registrations and sales describe the market around your network. Your site's call demand also depends on utilisation, access, app design, and the support hours you offer.
Use these figures as context. For staffing and service decisions, compare them with your own calls and session records rather than applying an industry percentage to every site.

Before a pilot, choose a review period, the calls included, and the evidence needed to count a result. Keep definitions unchanged during the comparison. If you change a rule, label the new period separately.
These are measurement definitions, not promised benchmarks. Your operations and technical teams should agree the source and owner of each measure before interpreting the result.
Calls answered
Answered calls divided by offered calls in the agreed coverage window.
Keep abandoned and unanswered calls visible. Use the same hours in both periods.
Confirmed outcomes
Calls meeting the agreed completion condition divided by calls reviewed for that workflow.
An accepted CPMS request is not a confirmed result. Keep unknown outcomes separate.
Human handoffs
Required handoffs accepted by the receiving team divided by required handoff attempts.
Record failed transfers and backup routes, not just successful connections.
Repeat contacts
Reviewed incidents with a repeat contact within the agreed follow-up window divided by reviewed incidents.
Use permitted identifiers and a defined matching method. A short call can leave unfinished work.
Support effort
Total support and review effort for comparable call reasons and coverage periods.
Include setup, supervision, receiving-team time, and repeat contacts before estimating savings.
Port availability
Availability calculated from the relevant equipment records and applicable definition.
Keep asset uptime separate from call resolution. Explain exclusions and missing evidence.
Choose a test your team can judge
For an after hours support pilot, you could review routine calls completed, people reached when needed, and work still waiting at the start of the next shift. Those outcomes describe the service you are evaluating.
